The official record starts with a practical hull: a Crusader courier chassis with cargo capacity, data storage, crew bunks, and a rear ramp. The public story starts later, after the Saint Brendan's Wake crossed a field of wreckage with survivors hidden in its hold.
By the time rescue crews reached Levski, the ship was no longer only Cormac MacRae's runner. It was proof, shelter, argument, and evidence. The name Deepwell Mercy arrived because the old registry had become too small for what returned.

Operational Profile
The hull's public life is practical: urgent freight, sealed containers, contract routes, and places where a fast civilian ship can arrive before anyone official has agreed to care.
